These creations were meant to be tools of conquest, but they eventually spiraled out of control as the war dragged on for generations. The turning point arrived when the Tenno, children bonded with Warframes by Orokin scientists, awoke to their true power. Betrayed and traumatized by their handlers' experiments, particularly those surrounding the Zariman incident, the Tenno turned against their masters. They dismantled the infrastructure of the empire from within, destroying the capital and scattering the Orokin leadership into oblivion. In the aftermath, the Grineer fled to the edges of the system, the Infested spread unchecked across planets, and the Tenno were forced into cryo-sleep. The Lotus remained as a guardian in the shadows, waiting for the day the Tenno would wake again to face the lingering threats born from this ancient conflict.
